Heimtextil 2020 - A beacon of Sustainability

Heimtextil, known for being a climate and trend barometer when it comes to home and contracts textiles sets in stone its new mantra: a focus on innovative design practices towards Sustainability.

Celebrating its 50th anniversary, this international trade fair starts the new decade off by creating a sustainability manifesto. With over 3000 exhibitors displaying their wares and ideas, a special focus throughout its spaces is on the application of sustainability, a focus which is also reflected in the addition of its "Green Village" and a new material manifesto co-developed with the International Trend Council. "The manifesto outlines how to manage resources when creating its important trend and inspiration area (the apply trend Space) and how to avoid using new materials, whenever possible, which will most probably otherwise end up as waste as the exhibition closes."

As Sabine Scharrer (Director Heimtextil) proudly says: “As a design show, it constantly reinvents itself, continues to present state-of-the-art home trends as it has always done and makes the furnishing trends of tomorrow tangible.

In this regard, a must-see is the "Textile Technologies" section, which acts as recognition about how the digital revolution is currently impacting a whole textile industry and rising a need for "fundamental innovative changes in the manufacture and (more) sustainable processing of home textiles".

At MTEX NS we understand this sustainability manifesto as a landmark for what is coming and a stepping stone to become a leading reference in the digital print market.

Proof of that is our latest innovation: MTEX FALCON.
